| This here was my "SIMPLE MAN" He never learned to read or write but he sho' could make a dollar. We NEVER went hungry and we ALWAYS had clean clothes!!! He loved me like Jesus. He taught me how to "hunt it", shoot a shotgun, fight cocks, skin rabbits, and track deer, rabbit, squirrels, etc.. He yodeled all the time and could make the prettiest bird sounds by either whistling or with his hands and gentle strong breath. He was Injun and knew when it was gonna rain, sleet, snow, or ifins a hurricin was a comin'. He was an angel sent from heaven! He went home on April 11, 1998 on our oldest son's 3rd birthday. He never once broke my heart and stood up for me many times when no one else would. He didn't give crap and he didn't take it and you could tell THAT by the way he treated his huntin dogs! Think YOUR smart.....think again. He could outsmart anyone, especially the "educated" boys! |
| "Simple Man" A gravel road runs to my home And the pine trees roll forever Kady Dids they sang my song And the only change is the weather And once in a while I can hear him smile Blowin through the trees in the night A hound dog howlin in a distant thunder Just a shadow in the pale moonlight chorus: He was a simple man He had no plans He lived his life Off the land He had a simple life A simple wife He never learned To read or write He was a simple....man A lonesome dove cries out for love And the rain beats slow and steady Lightening strikes in the night The hunt is on and he's ready And once in a while I can hear him Blowin through the trees in the night A whiporill cries out his thrills As the darkness slowly bleeds to light Chorus |
